“Every relationship has a rhytm: it’s the dance of connection and disconnection that defines it.” -Dr Julie Gottman
Tarini Mathrani Level 1- Gottman Method Couples Therapy
Tarini is passionate about helping couples use evidence-based strategies created by Drs. John and Julie Gottman to strengthen the foundation of their relationship. She has completed Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapy. The goal of this couple's counseling approach is to help improve relationships and communication.
I use the Gottman Method, a well-known marriage therapy technique, to help gay and heterosexual couples create opportunities to strengthen their bond. 69% of relationship issues are unresolvable, and this research-based therapy teaches couples how to manage them rather than avoid or eliminate them.
Gottman therapy could help you and your partner with several types of problems, such as difficulty communicating, constructive conflict resolution, rebuilding trust following betrayal, strengthening emotional intimacy, navigating life transitions, and coping with parenthood. The Gottman Method for Couples can empower you whether your goal is to strengthen your relationship or you're experiencing challenges and need the resources to help you succeed.

How it Works
Phase 1: Assessment: This phase, which lasts roughly five hours, is when the GMCT starts. Take part in three 90-minute sessions with me via telehealth during the assessment phase. The sessions involve an oral history interview, relationship assessment, individual partner interviews, and a joint feedback session. In order to help your therapist understand your background, relationship history, and areas of work together, each partner will get online questions following the initial meeting. These questionnaires may seem thorough, but they are essential.
Phase 2: Intervention In order to establish goal alignment and a clear knowledge of the treatment process, your therapist will develop a treatment plan based on the information gathered during the assessment. This is the start of your therapeutic journey. My role is to help you become the master of your relationship dynamics during the treatment stage by dealing with your most important relationship issues. The course of treatment can be adjusted to fit your schedule until you are comfortable handling your relationship well.
Phase 3: Plan for Preventing Relapse: In order to make sure you stay on track; you and your therapist will communicate via email for around six months during this last phase of the treatment. Here are some options we might talk about if we discover any new difficulties during this period of time including booking a few extra appointments via telehealth; recommending additional resources or other suitable resources.
It is strongly advised that couples attend weekly counseling sessions for the first few weeks of evaluation and therapy. After that, we can switch to biweekly sessions as needed. 90-minute follow-up counseling sessions will be held in Coomera or via telehealth upon request by calling 0490 782 728.
